Allison Transmission, designer and manufacturer of conventional and electrified powertrains for medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicles, is presenting its new Allison eGen Power® electric axle for fire and rescue vehicles at Interschutz 2022 (20-25 June, Hannover.) , hall 27, stand H 38).
Emergency One, the British manufacturer of fire and rescue vehicles, has integrated the eGen Power 100D in its new E1 EV0™ platform on a MAN TGM chassis and is presenting the vehicle for the first time at Interschutz in cooperation with Allison (open space, stand P54). This is the first time that a truck with eGen Power e-Axle drive has been shown in Europe.
The eGen Power® is a bolt-on electric power unit compatible with existing vehicle frames. It features two fully integrated electric motors, a two-speed gearbox, oil cooler and pumps.
EGen Power 100D AND 130D axle
The twin-motor version of the 100D has a continuous output of 454 kilowatts and a peak output of 652 kilowatts. The eGen Power 100D axle is one of the most powerful electric axles on the market. Its design prioritises start-up and climbing capabilities, as well as high speed and efficiency.
This allows fire and rescue vehicles to deliver unparalleled performance and reliability, strong acceleration and excellent manoeuvrability. Allison also offers the eGen Power 130D, a variant of the 100D specifically designed for markets in Europe and Asia Pacific, where many commercial vehicles require a higher 13-tonne gross axle load.
Visitors to the Allison booth at Interschutz 2022 can also learn more about the company’s TerraTran™ transmission, a variant of Allison’s proven 4000 Series™ road transmission specially designed for the extreme demands of airport fire trucks.
TerraTran offers a maximum power output of up to 800 horsepower and torque of up to 3,200 Newton metres. The transmission also has seven forward gears and two reverse gears. TerraTran offers the proven reliability and durability of Allison 4000-series transmissions, but with increased power, torque and Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) as well as fast reverse capability.
